The things people ask us most, from booking a table to running a function. If yours is not here, call (02) 4408 3033 or send us a message.

Booking and paying

Do you take deposits or pre-payments?

For large groups a preauthorisation fee may apply. It is a holding fee only, and it is released back to your card once you are seated.

What if we need to cancel?

We are as flexible as possible. For large group bookings or ticketed events we appreciate at least 24 hours' notice, or phone our functions manager on (02) 4408 3033.

What payment methods do you accept?

Cash, Amex, Mastercard, Visa and Eftpos. Gift vouchers for both Ponte Bar and Dining and The Growers by Ponte are accepted here too.

Can we split the bill?

Yes. With QR codes on the tables and order-at-counter service, split bills are easy.

Are there any surcharges or discounts?

A 10% surcharge applies on Sundays and 15% on public holidays. SESG Members Card holders receive a 10% discount.

Eating and drinking

What is on the menu?

Snacks, starters, mains and desserts, plus the wine list. There is a $50 two-course option (a starter and a main) and a $60 three-course option. The style is Modern Australian, built on fresh local produce. The food menu is on the menu page.

Do you cater for dietary requirements?

Yes. Gluten free dishes are marked with an asterisk and many can be adjusted, and vegan dishes are marked (vegan). Just let our staff know your requirements.

Do you have specials or a happy hour?

Our Wednesday and Thursday Night Dinner Specials run weekly. See the dinner specials.

Can we BYO?

No, we are fully licensed, so BYO is not permitted.

Do you do takeaway or delivery?

Yes, for wood-fired pizza. Takeaway pizza is available Wednesday to Friday, ordered online, with pickup between 5pm and 7pm. See the takeaway pizza page. We do not offer delivery.

What about kids' meals?

Kids' meals are strictly for ages 3 to 11, and there are teen options available too.

Events and celebrations

What's on at The Growers?

We run regular special events, including Feed Me Fridays, Wine Dinners and more. Details and booking links are on the What's On page.

Can we decorate for a private event?

Balloons and flowers only, please. No tinsel, scatters or confetti.

Can we bring a cake?

Yes, you are welcome to bring your own cake. There is no cakeage if it is cut and served on a napkin; if you would like plates and cutlery, a small per-person cakeage fee applies.

What we can host

Which space suits our event?

There are three, and they work on their own or together. The garden and lawn take stand-up cocktail parties, ceremonies and long lunches, with umbrellas by day and festoon lights at night. The veranda is covered and wet-weather friendly, which makes it the default for sit-down dinners and receptions. The dining room and bar is quieter and more intimate, and sits right beside the wine wall.

What functions can I hold here?

Most things, and often several at once. The ones people ask for most:

  • Weddings. Ceremony on the lawn, drinks and photos in the garden, then dinner under the covered veranda so the weather does not get a say.
  • Engagement parties and baby showers. Stand-up canapes in the garden, or a long table on the veranda.
  • Birthdays and milestones.
  • Farewells.
  • Long lunches on the lawn.
  • Corporate lunches, client dinners, Christmas parties and off-sites. There is a page for it: corporate events.
  • Wakes. Calm indoor and outdoor areas, ample parking and their own canape and finger sandwich package. There is a page for it: wakes.

If yours is not on the list, ask. It is usually a yes.

Can we take the whole venue?

Yes. Take the garden and lawn, the veranda, or the dining room and bar on their own, or all three together for a bigger event. Venue hire has the detail on each.

How does the food work for a group?

Three ways, and you pick one. Stand-up canapes for 20 or more adults, a two or three course sit-down which becomes compulsory for larger groups, or a Brazilian BBQ feast for 30 or more where the meats are carved at your table and the salads and dessert come from a buffet.

Can you cater for children at a function?

Yes. There is a two-course kids' menu for 3 to 11 year olds and a two-course teen menu for 12 to 17 year olds, plus a fenced playground in view of the veranda.

Can we book midweek?

Wednesday to Saturday at any time. Monday and Tuesday are possible too, depending on how big the group is, so it is worth asking.
